2018 POA Election

 

 

The Election Committee is now accepting nominations for the Saddlebrooke POA Board positions of President and Treasurer.

(See below for job descriptions)

 

The nomination process will close at midnight July 31, 2018.

 

Nominations can be made by contacting any member of the Election Committee, by phone, mail, email or in person.  All candidates must be members in good standing of the POA.  The term for each position is two years.  A candidate may contact any current Board member for more details on the duties and responsibilities of these positions.

 

Elections will be conducted during the month of August.  Installation of officers will be conducted at the close of the annual POA meeting the third Saturday in September.  If you need additional information on the nomination or election process, you may contact the Election Committee or see the Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation on the Saddlebrooke website.

Job Descriptions

(From POA Bylaws)

 

President

The President shall be the chief executive officer of the Corporation. The President shall preside at all meetings of the Board of Directors, shall have the power to transact all of the usual, necessary and regular business of the Corporation as may be required, with such prior authorization of the Board as may be required by these Bylaws, to execute such contracts, deeds, bonds and other evidences of indebtedness, leases, and other documents as shall be required by the Corporation; and, in general, the President shall perform all duties incident to the office of President and chief executive officer and such other duties as may from time to time be prescribed by the Board of Directors. The President shall be a co-signatory with the Vice President and Secretary of all Corporation financial accounts. The President shall be an ex­officio member of all committees.

 

Treasurer

The Treasurer shall have charge and custody of and be responsible for the accounting of all receipts and expenditures of POA funds, shall maintain all required ledgers, shall be in charge of directing the deposit of all POA funds in such bank or banks as the Board of Directors may from time to time determine to be required. The Treasurer shall take care of the timely filing of any applicable state and federal tax forms and state corporation registration with the Secretary of State as may be required. This shall include, but not be limited to, ensuring the issuance of 1099 forms, providing monthly input of all financial data, ensuring the completion of an end-of-the­year financial report, and providing such other reports to the Board of Directors as may be requested by the Board. The Treasurer shall see that accounting system is maintained in such a manner as to provide an auditable accounting of the financial transactions of the POA. The Treasurer is responsible to provide the Board of Directors with a listing of all membership maintenance fee assessment delinquencies and a current status of all monetary accounts on a monthly basis. The Treasurer shall collect and record all POA member dues or assessments. The Treasurer shall not be a co-signatory to POA financial accounts but shall perform such other duties incident to the office of Treasurer as the Board of Directors or the President may direct.
